About the role:

An experienced Electronics or Automation Engineer, to be a part of the team responsible for planning and preparing the installation of the Octavic system for our clients, as well as configuring and deploying the solution. You will also occasionally provide post-installation support for clients, to make the deployment and transition to using our system a seamless customer experience for our users.

Key Responsibilities:

Electrical Installations

· Read and interpret electrical schematics to understand components and connections.

· Install and wire electrical equipment, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

· Test and maintain electrical circuits, identifying and resolving operational issues.

Automation Systems

· Program and configure Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs) for industrial automation.

· Work with sensors and actuators, ensuring proper integration and configuration.

· Integrate various components of automated systems for efficient operation.

Networking

· Set up and configure simple networks (LAN), including routers and switches.

· Diagnose and troubleshoot network issues using tools like ping, tracert, and netstat.

· Implement basic network security measures, including configuring firewalls and preventing unauthorized access.

Linux Administration

· Perform basic system administration tasks, including user management, permission settings, and software updates.

· Use Linux terminal commands effectively (e.g., ls, cd, cp, mv, grep, awk, sed).

· Automate repetitive tasks using simple bash scripts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

· A background in industrial automation or electronics with mid-level experience with automation hardware interfacing, configuration, and deployment

· Basic knowledge of industrial automation systems and standard wide-spread industrial communication protocols.

· An ability to understand industrial equipment automation schematics as well as overall functioning principles.

· Familiarity with PLC programming and industrial automation concepts

· A positive and proactive attitude – take action, move fast, break things and learn!

· Awesome communication skills and team player.

· A proactive approach in solving issues and understanding customer needs

· Willingness to travel within Romania and Europe, 1-2 weeks/month in some months

Advantage:

· Some experience with IT systems configuration (Windows Server, MS SQL), as well as Linux systems administration (command-line) would be a big plus.

· Previous experience in managing hardware installation projects would also constitute an advantage.
